What is the capital of Australia?
Answer
Canberra
Canberra is a common quiz trap, because most people guess Sydney or Melbourne. The city was purpose-built as a compromise: when Australia federated in 1901, Sydney and Melbourne both wanted the honour, so a new capital was created between them and officially named in 1913.
