Privacy
The short version: no accounts, no sign-up, and no selling your data. This page explains the little that is collected and why.

Who we are
TierBrain runs tierbrain.co. You can reach us at hello@tierbrain.co.
What we collect, and why
- Page views. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits to pages. It doesn’t use cookies, doesn’t store anything on your device and doesn’t follow you around other sites.
- Saved on your device. Your light or dark mode choice and your Today’s question streak are kept in your browser’s local storage, on your own device. Games do the same for things like your best score, sound and simple-mode settings, your nickname, and, if you host, the current room code so a reload doesn’t lose the game. None of this is sent to us, and clearing your browser data removes it.
- Multiplayer games. When you host or join a game, the nickname you type, your team, your answers, buzzes and score are stored on our database service while the game runs, so everyone in the room can see them.
- Group leaderboards. In games such as Smudged, a group code is optional. Only if you enter one and press Save, your name, score, level and time left are stored under that code. Anyone who knows the code can see the group’s results.
- Wall of Fame. Where a game shows scores on the Wall of Fame, the nickname and score shown are public. Please don’t use your full name. You can ask us to remove an entry at any time.
- Emails. If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply and, if needed, to fix the problem.
What we don’t collect
We don’t ask for accounts, passwords, emails, ages or locations to play. We don’t sell your data and we don’t use it for advertising.
Other services
- Hosting. Our hosting provider sees standard technical details, such as your IP address, when your browser loads a page.
- Database. Multiplayer rooms and group leaderboards run on Supabase, a database service. It stores the information described above on our behalf.
- QR codes. When a host’s screen shows a QR code to join, the code image is drawn by a third-party service (QR Server), which receives the join link, including the room code, to do so.
- Google Fonts. Pages load their fonts from Google, so your browser asks Google’s servers for them and Google receives your IP address.
- Sharing. The Share button on Today’s question opens your device’s share sheet, or X (Twitter) if your device can’t share. Whatever you share is then governed by that service.
- Buy Me a Coffee. If you follow the coffee link, you leave TierBrain and their privacy policy applies.
Cookies
TierBrain doesn’t use cookies for tracking or advertising. Services you choose to visit from here, such as the coffee link, may set their own.
Children
TierBrain is for everyone, including families. There are no accounts, and we don’t ask for names, emails or ages. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. Parents and carers: please help younger players pick a nickname that isn’t their real name.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, by emailing hello@tierbrain.co. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled something, you can complain to your local data protection authority. In the UK, that’s the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
How long we keep things
Anything saved in your browser stays until you clear it. Analytics are counts, not profiles of individuals. Emails are kept for as long as we need to deal with your message.
Changes
If we change how TierBrain handles information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
